Charles M. Wolfson, Of Counsel
Mr. Wolfson assists the firm in complex litigation matters, providing strategic advice and legal analysis and drafting written submissions on motions and appeals. In the past, he has assisted the firm in connection with its Dalkon Shield, breast implant, pacemaker, heart valve, Albuterol, Stadol, MTBE and PPA cases, amongst others.
Mr. Wolfson graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School. Following graduation, he was a law clerk for the Hon. Cornelia G. Kennedy, U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He then worked as an associate for the international law firm Coudert Brothers, first in their New York office, then in their Sydney, Australia office. He left Coudert Brothers to join Cashman & Partners, a leading Australian plaintiffs firm, to assist them in representing several thousand Australian claimants in the Dalkon Shield litigation in the U.S. He then established Wolfson Law Offices, with offices in Sydney, Australia and Wellington, New Zealand, specializing in complex mass tort litigation.
Mr. Wolfson was Co-Vice Chairperson of the Foreign Plaintiffs Subcommittee of the Plaintiffs Steering Committee in the Silicone Gel Breast Implant Multidistrict Litigation (MDL 926) and Special Class Counsel in Bowling v. Pfizer, Inc., No. C-1-91-256 (S.D. Ohio), a worldwide class action settlement on behalf of living recipients of Bjork-Shiley convexo-concave heart valves and their spouses. He currently represents several hundred New Zealand women with claims pending in the Dow Corning Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding.
Mr. Wolfson also has taught Torts, Contracts, Commercial Law, Criminal Procedure and Evidence, and Mass Torts at the University of New South Wales, Macquarie University and University of Western Sydney Law Schools.
