Jennifer L. Frank, Managing Attorney

Jennifer Frank has been practicing with Lewis Saul & Associates since 1993 primarily concentrating in pharmaceutical and medical device complex litigation. Among the cases she has been involved in are:

  • In re The Delaco Company, a bankruptcy proceeding before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Ms. Frank helped negotiate a move favorable Reorganization Plan to resolve the claims of clients who ingested the over-the-counter weight loss drug Dexatrim manufactured by Delaco.
  • In re: AMS Penile Implant Litigation. Ms. Frank worked with three other law firms in handling a 700 lawsuit consolidation of AMS Penile Implant cases in Minnesota State Court. All filed cases achieved a favorable settlement.
  • In re Copley Pharmaceutical, Inc. In this class action which involved contaminated albuterol manufactured by Copley Pharmaceutical, Ms. Frank worked with the Plaintiff Steering Committee during all aspects of discovery and went on to assist the trial team in a three month trial which settled before the parties gave closing arguments. In re Copley was the first national personal injury class ever certified for trial.
  • Deminne v. Smart Corporation, No. 151794, (Sup. Ct. Montgomery Co., Md.). Ms. Frank was appointed class counsel in this class action brought on behalf of residents of Maryland who were overcharged for copies of their medical records. The Maryland Attorney General joined in the suit and the case resulted in a favorable class action settlement for all class members.

Currently, Ms. Frank handles the firm’s pharmaceutical litigation cases such as cases involving Vioxx, Celebrex, Bextra, Zyprexa, Ortho Evra, Arava, and Zycam.

Ms. Frank has practiced before the United States District Courts of Maine, Maryland, Florida, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, and before many state courts around the country. She is licensed to practice law in California, Maryland, Washington D.C. and Maine. Ms. Frank graduated from Golden Gate University Law School in 1992 with a certificate in public interest law. She received the Paul S. Jordan Achievement Award for outstanding student contribution and was awarded a scholarship based on her dedication to issues involving the underrepresented. Ms. Frank was a member of the Golden Gate University Law Review and published an article on the use of ADR in resolving claims under the environmental Superfund statute.

Ms. Frank works from the Portland, Maine office where she is a member of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, the Maine Bar Association and American Trial Lawyers Association. Ms. Frank lives in Pownal, Maine and has two young sons.
